Chris Jacobs, CEO of Solutions for Progress, was appointed to the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia’s (SBN) Board of Directors on January 18, 2017 at SBN’s Annual Membership Meeting.

The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN) is a non-profit membership organization working to build a thriving, local, and sustainable economy in the Greater Philadelphia region. They are accomplishing this by educating and growing a broad base of local, independent businesses and educating policymakers and the public. SBN’s 400 members are locally-owned businesses committed to doing well through environmentally and/or socially-focused enterprises. Through their products, services, and/or internal practices, SBN’s members exemplify how business can be a force for good.

Jacobs brings a unique blend of experience to the SBN Board. He has spent a lifetime, professionally and personally, fighting for social justice through his involvement with many faith- and community-based organizations, political campaigns and private pursuits in Philadelphia and elsewhere. At SfP, Jacobs led the technology and public policy company through the process of becoming a founding Pennsylvania Benefit Corporation shortly after legislation was passed to make this special corporate classification available. His experience, determination and ability to work with others from all walks of life and ideologies will help SBN grow and achieve their goals. Jacobs will serve on the SBN Board of Directors for a three-year renewable term.
