SfP becomes Communally, the Antipoverty Technology Company

Sept. 12, 2017 (Philadelphia) - Communally, the antipoverty technology company, announced this morning that Solutions for Progress Inc. has officially changed its name to Communally. The company announced this change as well as an overall company rebranding to better define its purpose, goals and aspirations in its fight against poverty to its customers, affiliates and partners.

“In changing our name and revitalizing our brand, what has not changed is our approach to addressing poverty. Our focus is to end poverty, not manage it. We believe that poverty can only be ended through the holistic approach we have adopted,” stated Christopher Jacobs, CEO of Communally.

Jacobs further said, “In addition to making it easier to understand who we are today and our commitment to both our partners – or allies – and the communities we serve, Communally also better represents our commitment to sustainability and making an overall social impact.”

Founded in 1992, the company began as a public policy consulting firm, focusing on research that assisted multiple advocacy groups in addressing policies to improve the lives of low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Over time, through extensive data analysis and evaluation work, the company began to focus on technology development.

Today Communally’s web-based services, The Benefit Bank® and MyBudgetCoach®, are used by community- and faith-based agencies to assist their neighbors move out of poverty and move from Crisis to Choice® .

Communally is a local leader in promoting Certified B Corps and Public Benefit Corporations. The company has been a certified B-Corp since 2012 and was one of the first companies to register as a Benefit Corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2013.
